Was knitting my excuse for watching American Idol, or watching American Idol my excuse for knitting?

The cooler weather so far this year gave me a great start for my garden, and I was even able to get everything through the crazy hot weekend. The only loss was a tomato plant, but I have one exactly like it doing just fine, and that spot was freed up for a jalepeno plant ( Read more... )

Early bedtime tonight.

We just got back into town.  I didn't spend any time online while I was away, so I'm horribly behind on reading friend's list.  I'll try to catch up...but now, we're hauling out of the house and my girl's hair is in a frightful state, so I probably should take the time to comb their hair before we leave instead of rambling more here.

Busy busy. 

This month I did an itemized budget of all our expenses this month.  No big surprises, except that we spent $125 on eating out, including David's gas station junk food runs when he's at work.  We only spent $175 on groceries, so that put things in perspective a bit.  For groceries, I tend to buy stuff that comes together to make a meal, and stay ( Read more... )

There are no Knitpicks needles on ebay or amazon.  No accessories or anything.  Some Denise and Boyle stuff, but nothing in Options. Huh.

I think that, when I'm ready to buy them, I'm going to put an ad out on craiglist to see if there's a used Harmony set out there before I order one.

I decided to scratch the baby skirt idea because I'm not sure I have enough yarn, and I'd like to use my leftover yellow and orange yarn to contrast with some Kool-Aid purple, so this is my next project. I'm going to make it to match a little hat I threw together out of some yarn I had lying around.  I'm pretty sure there's enough for the jacket... ( Read more... )
