So, back in May, I started my very first mead. In June, I added fresh Oregon strawberries (just delivered that morning) and today was my second racking where I took another hydrometer reading and had a test taste.
Well one of these days I'll make enough to share - and then you watch your mailbox! ;)
The guys have made their fourth batch of beer (the 5th went bad!), but they keep drinking it to the point where they don't have enough to share/save. I think our first batch we only had 2 bottles left in the end!
It's actually really easy! It's easier than brewing beer, and that's easy, too! ;)
You should give it a shot. You don't have to do any fruit, just do a regular mead - maybe add some spices or something. It really doesn't have to be complicated at all.
Your main concern is keeping things sanitised and that your stove can heat up your pot evenly. Small batches are key. :)
