Classic Who: 4 More Serials

Sep 13, 2011 09:54

Man, I'm really going through these. I'm pretty sure I'll be going back for more once I've finished off this list of recommended episodes. I just haven't decided how much more.

Also, Four has taken Two's spot on my list of favorite Doctors and now has his sights set on Nine's.

More thoughts and reactions below the cut. )

reviewish stuff, doctor whoville, fanboy moment

Okay, there's K-9, but I thought Sarah had already left.

Sarah Jane actually has another version of K-9 (I won't say more because you will get to find out what happens to the original K-9 in the episodes you have lined up). She and K-9 weren't ever in the TARDIS at the same time... the Doctor acquired K-9 while Leela was his companion. It actually looks like your list doesn't include any of her episodes.

From what I remember, Sarah Jane gets her K-9 when she goes to visit her aunt and finds a crate addressed to her that's been sitting unopened for years... when she opens it, she finds K-9 who tells her he's a gift from the Doctor. (This is from the TV show "K-9 and Company.")

Actually... thinking about it, you haven't ever seen the original K-9! I just remembered that the one he has with Romana is Mark II.

Well, that makes a bit more sense out of that, at least.

Well, I'm likely to double back for more. Maybe I'll catch her on the second pass.

Another spin-off? How big is this universe?

It's a spin-off that didn't go anywhere. I believe the pilot was the only thing ever made and shown, but there may have been some books? I'm not clear on that. However, it's obviously canon (or canon-ish), because Sarah Jane has K-9 at her house in "The Five Doctors" and, well, she's got him when she shows back up on Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures.
