Brief Thoughts on The Guild (and 6 icons)

So...the season 4 finale of The Guild came out today. It's good stuff.

I remember being less than impressed with S3, but so in love with S1+2. One major difference is that I watched S1+2 after they'd aired, back to back. That in mind, I deliberately deprived myself of S4 until it was done.

There was a lot of disappointment re: the finale with most of the people I talked to, and I agree a bit. It didn't wrap up a lot of the plotlines, and it's a little frustrating to have to wait a year to find out what happens with some of them. On the other hand, that means S5 will be pretty juicy.
I am adamantly Team Cawkes, even though Felicia Day pretty much sunk my 'ship. :(
Part of it is my own personal emotional masochism and love for dating assholes. Also, bad boy, hot. And Felcia's in-show reference to the 'reformed rake' trope is very accurate. Chicks dig that shit. And he did legitimately care for her. Also how can you deny that face he makes during the 'I make good brownies' line? Dawww.

Disappointment? Really? I was pretty impressed with it.

They always leave a few dangling plotlines...I suspect this is to make sure that the audience will actually come back for more.

Cawkes is unlikely to be a ship that works for me. I dig the character, and it is pretty clear that he's genuinely interested in Codex, but they just don't work for me as a couple.

Someone pointed out the entire episode was just one long scene, which I don't believe they've ever done in The Guild before. Usually the cover a lot of the plotlines at once. Guess that left people feeling gypped.

Oh, I'm team Rilex, too, as well as being team Cawkes. But I would love to OD on Riley/Venom fic in the meantime...(Veney? lol)

Honestly, I don't ship very hard with anyone on The Guild. Mostly, I just enjoy the laughs and social commentary.
