I met... and had a private concert with - Mike Doughty

He played to us and about 10 other people in the minuscule (and sold-out *LOL*) Mata Hari Bar in Nuremberg yesterday, how lucky are we? A very cosy and intimate concert by IMHO one of the greatest American singer-songwriters. (And he speaks almost accent-free German. My language-teacher heart jumped. *LOL* I told him so. )

Welcome! I wish you could be here in fortnight for the 12th international Franconian Kletzmer festival. There will also be a lot of bands that combine traditional Jewish music with other styles, mainly rock and gypsy music.

We went to the Suitcase on Saturday and listened to a new band called "Urban Folk Project". They were mediocre (and peobably will improve). They had an awesome cello player (as awesome as Robyn's Jenny), though, and combined many styles and instruments (but the drummer was too loud and the singer lacked... something... I think it was voice... sorry *LOL*).

I wish I could be there as well.....those combinations sound great. I loved Pad Brapads gypsy music. Thank you once again for another really enjoyable holiday.*hugs*.....Plus I loved your new flat and I'm so envious of that HUGE wardrobe.

Here is Pad Brapad....can't be bothered putting it on my page...so I will put them on yours instead. :-))))

*LOL* Bought a huge chest of drawers, too, so it won't feel lonely. *LOL*

Oh, that's a nice video-medley. Thanks for linking.

They would have fittet in nicely at the festival.
Compare this band from last year's Kletzmer festival:

(As long as they're singing about "witer snej" (white snow) this cold stuff outside won't melt... *LOL*
