The best and most pessimistic Christmas song ever written.

I dunno if I'm being willfully obtuse, but I've never understood how it's quite as cynical and biting as everyone says, especially after I read this quotation on wikipedia: "I find it appalling when people say it's politically incorrect to talk about Christmas, you've got to talk about 'The Holiday Season.' Christmas was a time of family warmth and love. There was a feeling of forgiveness, acceptance. And I do believe in Father Christmas." It is a right choon though.

Although I can't actually find any proper reference to the supposed Mojo interview outside of wikipedia, so it may well have NEVER HAPPENED.

AHAHAHA oh man, I don't know if I should be admitting to this, but I was just listening to Emerson, Lake & Palmer's version of this song
