It's specific to Precision Nutrition (http://precisionnutrition.com) but I can give you the burger recipe if you're interested. The system is based on higher protein/higher fat ergo lower carb eating regime.

I was just interested in what the regime you were on was. I might try making burgers like that, though! I'll probably have a bun, though, lol.

PN rose, I think, out of body builders but there are many good points for those of us that don't want to get down to single digit body fat percentages. (Ha! I wish!) Essentially a diet based on protein and fresh veg, moderate fruit and carbs if you've worked for them. Pretty simple. In theory. ;)

I'd take non-tropical no snow beaches right now! ;)

are those the ones you get to keep? faunhaert January 13 2010, 00:14:59 UTC
rubbing the puppy's tummy
is one of the best things you can do
if you really want something to go

add a warm wet wash cloth on the bung
in gentle circles it immitates momma licking to
stimulate digestion- good for found raccoon pups

I also saw Lab mother rolling her puppy down the driveway
in between lickings-
told my peper farmer he said he'd had pups die from constipation
and his last puppy in distress did way better after he did the tummy rub.

Yep. Shine is my book. Bridgette's is entitled "Trees" and Seth's "Contexture". Can't wait to be able to hang the entire set of 12!

I agree re: gentle massage. For a whole host of problems. Humans benefit too. :)

is shine over with? i looked at the photos yesterday on flickr. they look really good. a lot of talent in you three.

carob is not a chocolate substitute! sparkpeople keeps track of your carbs, as you know. i eat way to many, and way too little fiber (i'm keeping track of that too), so i'm trying to change my ways. i'm not doing too badly. i actually like sparkpeople better than weight watchers, because you can keep track of individual nutritional elements. i thought it would bug me to count calories instead of points, but i'm really liking it. i added you.

We still have another 2 full rounds to do. Essentially, we're halfway through. We aren't bent on deadlines - thank goodness! - so it's taken perhaps longer than we'd anticipated but the quality of work is so very worth it. Love the no-stress of this collab!

Calorie to carb ratio is where its at when you count carbs. Vegetables rock that boat big time! I make a habit of when I'm REALLY hungry, to grab a handful of mini carrots or raw green beans or pre-cut celery and nosh on that while I try and decide what I want to eat. Generally by the time I've finished the veggies, I'm not quite so hungry.

I've also found that there is an eating time ratio that is really really important for me. Probably the reason behind mindless eating. It's the process of chewing that puts me into a zen state. (think: bags of chips or cookies or bowls of popcorn) I can achieve the same state via crunchy fresh vegetables. It satiates much more than just bodily hunger imho. Pretty hard to eat 100s of calories worth of celery in a short period of time!

i was way too hungry last night, and tried to stave off the hunger with carrots. it just doesn't work for me. i had to have some cashews. i need a bit of protein.

do you know how many grams of protein and fiber would be considered a high protein/high fiber breakfast? that's one of the spark people goals, but there's not information on the number of grams.

Generally a "high" protein diet would be considered about 1-1 1/2g per body weight, with 1 1/2g being for body builders or some guys. I shoot for between 120-150g. So if I eat 5 meals a day that's between 20-30g per meal. 30g is 1 scoop of protein powder or a palm-sized chicken breast.

Apparently, women are supposed to get around 30g of fiber per day. Interestingly, on PN they did a comparison between the ratio of beans to fiber vs oats to fiber. Turns out beans are a 2 to 1g ratio whereas oats are 6-1g. So. Eat your legumes! ;)
