Back on the road again...

... this past week has been a mucus filled, wipe out crowned with a cake eating frenzy the likes of which I haven't seen in years. I'm ready for the next step!

Surgery might actually be a blessing though likely won't be recommended given my predisposition for throwing clots. I'm pretty sure the Orthopedic Surgeon is going to say, "Live with it." which of course means not making it worse (read: don't run). Not sure I can live with that diagnosis.

So do you have a paid version of that training peaks to do wha tyou do? Does your coach work with you on that site? do you track everything there?

My coach uses Training Peaks so as part of the process I get to use it. Of course, right now I am not being coached but he hasn't cut me loose so I continue to get the benefits. You can still use the free version though. I'm not sure what doesn't work between "coached athletes" and the freebie version.

How it worked for us, is Coach would plug in all my workouts for the week. I can fill in what I did, how I felt during etc. plus there is a daily metric - how many hours you've slept, how tired you felt etc. - and the ability to track all food as well. My coach didn't pay much attention to the nutrition side as that's not his forte but your nutritionist, for example could have a complete overview of what you were taking in on a daily basis. It's a pretty cool system.

Yeay, I know how good it feels to start back up. Congrats.

Apparently we're using training peaks too.

Which one are you thinking about anyway?

I'm pretty sure TP is the defacto training software for most coaches. They set it up that way back in the day ... my coach has a grandfathered account ... and it's pretty slick with all the new stuff they've added.

Not entirely sure though I know it won't be one of the trademarked IMs. There's one in Ottawa which is probably the closest but is the first weekend of September and that might be too soon.

Liked the Rev3 in Ohio but just looked at the cost. Same as Ironman. urg.
Like the sound of Beach To Battleship in NC but that isn't until November.

People seem to think Rev3OH is going to be good, but being the first year you never quite know. November timing might be better for you anyway wouldn't it? I mean I know it starts to get cold up there but at least you'd have more time on your side.

Too bad Muskoka would be too early. Their odd set up with the laps doesn't sound that appealing to me though even if the course is considered one of the easier ones.

B2B i've heard good things about.

Think Muskoka is only a 70.3. There are only 3 iron distances in Canada. Ironman Canada, Esprit in Montreal (but you'd have to shoot me first - 41 laps? uhm shudder!), and Ottawa's. Sad really.
