First let me say I'm so sorry this has been happening - has happened but, I will echo the others, you did the right thing. There comes a time when you just have to say *enough* when you have done all you could, worked as hard as you could and come up just short of throwing yourself as a bloody sacrifice on the altar of their narcissistic and constant jealous need. She is NOT a child - she is being willfully and intentionally brutal. She understands perfectly what she is doing; it's a manipiulation and it is not acceptable. No counselor, no therapist in the world is going to be able to help her unless she first changes her perspective, her sense of entitlement that everyone in her world owes it to her to live up to her expectations. I understand. It happened with my son. We're ok now. You will be ok. And I'll end with the same sentiment. You did the right thing. Call if you need to talk.
