More than halfway through the semester here in Madurai and I can’t figure out where the time is going. Since coming back from Long Tour we have completed classes and have had some awesome adventures, the highlight one being an at-dawn cycle ride out of town to Yannaimalai, a huge rock mountain that sticks out far above the flat surrounding ( Read more... )

oh meaghan! i miss you boodles! i can't believe your semester is more than half way over when i just finished my first week of classes. i need to write to you - i don't know why i haven't, but i will soon. i suppose i don't need to wish you an amazing time as i know you'll definitely have and are having one!

you captured the trip to YanaiMalai perfectly! It was so nice to read how you had the same wonderful experience I did. were there ants at the bottom of the hill? when i got there i thought my muscles were tingling, then after a few minutes I looked down and realized they were covered in ants. It was terrifying!!

what holidays have you celebrated? You still haven't told me about your ammaa's cooking. what is your favorite? there was an indian student association dinner tonight which was delicious as usual. it really has me missing india tonight. as time passes by, it seems that it was all a dream which is a very strange and sad feeling.

your ability to look on the bright side really stands out when you say that sociopolitical issues was "dry". i thought it was the most horrible waste of my time ever!! I was so disappointed; but perhaps we can enrich each others experience by discussing some of the issues next year.

i'm so looking forward to it!
