Okay, month-in-review, sans details: new job, new corset, tons of new books (yay!) which I've been devouring in steady gulps between work and sleep, 25th birthday been-and-gone, lots of thinking about the nature of life and death, good and evil (you know, light stuff), meditations on dark tunnels

similar to women not being able to escape their own predicament is the inability most people on the outside have to help them. they may have given or offered her advice, they may have suggested places to stay, they may have called people. But in the end, a woman must make the choice to take the advice she's been given and leave. also, somewhere along the way, people get the impression that meddling is not a virtue. Unfortunately it leads to ignorance or indifference, or simply a feeling of one's hands being tied. I hope what you experienced with your two male co-workers was the exception and not the rule.
