American Apparel

I've just recently started wearing American Apparel clothing and was surfing the net for their stuff  when I came across some more information about the company. They are an environmentally friendly company that does not use sweatshops from other countries. From here on out, I'm buying all of my basics from them, and I urge everyone else to check ( Read more... )

Their stuff is pretty cumfy! I like to wear it to the gym.

Did you know that as well as being environmentally friendly the company is sexually friendly, too?

I dont remember the exact details but the founder of the company was sued by a handful of his employees & models for sexual harassment. From what I understand the guy is a total slimeball.

I had come across a few mentions of the sexual harassment deal. That's really a shame as the company is doing so many good things.

Actually American Apparel is one of the companies that really piss me off because they act as if they are so concerned about the environment and their employees but they are in practice not. They bend the truth to put this in their ads. Their owner is currently facing sexual harassment and nasty charges because of what hes done repeatedly to his female employees.

I am on my cell phone now and it doesnt let me post links but as soon as i get to a desktop Ill link you the info. If you go to onezumiverse.com and search American Apparel you will come up with the blog entry I did about how evil they are. I just dont like that he markets something that is bending the ugly truth. :(

i shopped at a few of their stores when i lived in ny - the larges were too small for me, and i weighed 140lbs. i do love the style and logolessness of their clothes, though their ads in the metro (free daily in ny) were really graphic. i wouldn't have much cared, except i used the papers in my classroom and i always had to tear the back page off. lol.

i have a tshirt from there that was silkscreened when i did some volunteer work, and the side of the sleeve has a "nutrition" label for the clothes. unique, and cool.

I really like American Apparel. I have a good friend that is a screen printer and it's what she uses and the shirts felt so good that I had to ask her about her source. Now I've bought a bunch of stuff from them.
