Title: Listen to Me Now Characters: Sylar (Gabriel Gray)/Peter Petrelli Rating: PG Word count: 240 Setting: Inside the Wall Summary: Sylar hangs on to old information; both are happy to rewrite it. Inspired by More Between Us.
I am very much looking forward to when they get together and Sylar won't kiss and Peter wonders why the hell not!
I'm fascinated by Peter being so direct and ordering Sylar not only to kiss him, but to enjoy it. As if he knows (?) that he needs to include that part - not just 'kiss me', but 'kiss me and enjoy it'. He's dictating Sylar's experiences and that's working for Sylar, it seems to be what he needs. That's very intriguing!
I added that in and wondered the same thing. My Peter muse told me it was a slip-of-the-tongue or subconscious thing, like "You're going to kiss me and like it!" Of course Peter wants him to enjoy it/Peter (and kissing to Peter is practically always enjoyable for both parties, so kissing= obvious pleasure). It meant a lot more to Sylar than Peter figured or intended. Someone who…remembers the rules almost mid-kiss is someone who probably needs to be told to enjoy it anyway.
I see that the first sentence is His breath quickened and his lips parted, eyes focused on the Peter’s mouth. Is that "the" a typo, or does Sylar think of him as THE Peter? (I'm not trying to be snotty -- Sylar is damaged enough that he could well give Peter a definite article, as if he were an object.)
Happy face with big smile “Kiss me and enjoy.” He orders directly and clear as crystal. I liked how Peter gives him the answer without evasions. Peter’s kindness and love is unlimited for Sylar. How lucky he is . As I enter a state of depression, I look at this couple and feel happiness overwhelming me.
