I don't expect you to read all that, I just had to put it all down because it tickles me so...

In Memoriam Premortem

I'll forego the cliched pun for this extended education on the processing of foods, in favor of a simple sweet kick to the teeth (and the more subtle pun). All formalities aside, I learned this news sometime ago, and decided it best to share, this food for thought (I know I promised not to).

We all know, I'm sure, that the ( Read more... )

I decided not to write a conclusion, I didn't want to sublimate the power of the information, if that makes sense.

I love nothing more than a pun about food.

And I think all this is as good a reason as any to give assholes when they ask me why I "never eat," and cock their heads to look me up and down, frowning at the supposed frail little creature that I've become.. but that's an entirely seperate issue. *growls*

*cracks up* I'm sure I'll be hearing them soon enough.

And, unfortunately, yeah. I somehow managed to lose 10 lbs.-- by no intentional effort, mind you-- and everyone seems to have an opinion on the matter.

So...basically... we ingest cancer?

And so... Therefore...
1. Breathing is deadly...
2. Eating is deadly...
3. Everything is deadly...

Thus exsistence inevitably leads to death.
Do I have this right?

Well, we ingest carcinogens (which in essence induce cancer). But yes, basically lol. Ultimately and irrevocably so hehe.

It depends on whether or not you want to play the odds. Death comes from more than just a gun battle, that doesn't mean I'll wander into one lol. Ultimately you either have a 0 or 100% chance of getting cancer, but over a long enough period of time, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Hind sight is 20/20.

Why is everyone so resigned to the doom of the human race?

If we do our part to live more sustainably and decrease pollution emitions, our pained planet can be a cleaner, greener place. And we could all scamper around pleased as pie at the wonderful world we've created. :)

We get presidents like Bush instead.

Heh, that comment was originally intended for you, but I thought I might be preaching to the converted.

And while a part of me agrees, I always have to remain hopeful. Not only is it possible to have your head in the clouds and your feet on the ground at the same time, but it's the only way I know. Dream and dream big, kid. Cus as long as people like you and I know what's up and can educate others, anything is possible. The worst thing, in my mind, is for people who know better to sit back and quite literally watch the world come down before them.

Quite true.

I've been trying to reconcile my views for some time now. I've come to this conclusion- I am (what I like to call) Practical. (Or more along the lines of pessimistic) and yet, somehow, I'm hopeful. I know people are going to do bad stuff, I don't have much FAITH that they won't, but I still HOPE that they will choose otherwise.

It's odd, and a little frustrating, but yes. I agree with you. I'm just HOPING it comes true.
