Oh my....

So here I am, logged in to the office, getting some work done - and the keyboard starts going crazy.
After cursing, swearing, and trying everything I can think of - I may have an answer:

Suki must be bored, and taking over the keyboard!

It's an amusing thought, at any rate - and the only answer I have for suddenly stuck keys when there's noone

Time to stop eating nachos at the keyboard.

One thing to look out for is a Windows feature. If you hold the CTRL key down too long, or press it 4x in a row, the keyboard becomes disabled for an alternate data entry device.

Look for the NUM and CAP lock icons to be flashing.

Just hit ESC once or twice and it will clear up.

You can disable this under CONTROL PANEL - ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS.

-- cough or it could just be the nachos --

A very good thought - but this particular Siamese cat.... well, my bet's on her. Especially since after I logged off for half an hour, it started working.

But... isn't gotomypc based on Citrix? I used to have nightmares about Citrix, in my customer support days.

I'd vote for Suki too master_mr June 11 2007, 11:47:45 UTC
Perhaps turning your monirot off before you leave might be a help. She could be playing the "chase the mouse game". Our cats always liked that one too - and it plays havoc with the keyboard.

That's a thought. Unfortunately, it would mean the boss and I would *both* have to remember, since he usually uses my machine for BT stuff after I leave.

*zen hugs* and glad it seems things are going well. :)
