Episode One thoughts...

Non-spoilery... liked the ep, warming to Eleven.

Spoilery thoughts under the cut...

The new titles are funky. Love the return to an older-school variant of the theme, but blended with the more modern vortex tumble.

I'm warming to Eleven, but it will take me some time to really be sold on him, I think. The funny thing is - I think I'm not warming to him as quickly because I see too much of Ten in him. From Nine to Ten, there was a distinct jump and difference in behavior/mannerisms. I'm not seeing it as much here.

I dunno. Something just doesn't sit quite right with me yet - but honestly... I think it's just the concept of change. I will be fine.

As far as the ep itself...

I enjoyed it. It seemed a bit all over the place, but with a new Doctor and a new Companion - and hell, a new TARDIS and sonic - there's a lot of ground to cover in an hour.

Little Amelia/Amy - very cute. Asking Santa for stuff at Easter is exactly what I would do. Moffat's going to make kids terrified of those wall cracks now. Add another thing to the list.

"How do you know it's a duck pond?" Classic. I was wondering the same thing, honestly... it seemed a bit small to me.

I cracked up at the ending when the spaceship did a "oh... shit... run away!" and got out of dodge.

The TARDIS - what we've seen so far - is lovely. I know from reading spoilers that it's amazingly huge. I can't wait to see more. The whole "library in the pool" as it crashed = awesome. The grappling hook to get OUT of the library in the pool? Perfect.

The new slightly steampunky interior so far? Absolutely awesome. Typewriter and all.

Seeing Amy's wedding dress? Oh lordy, that's setting something big up. :)

Overall? I'm looking forward to the series. I really am.
