If you're going to read an Agatha Christie novel, I'd recommend going for one of her major detectives, as I find those stories are generally better. So, Poirot, Miss Marple or Tommy and Tuppence. If you know what sorts of things you like in a mystery, I could steer you toward the best fitting one-- I've read a lot of her stuff.
I'd definitely be interested in the pie recipe. :)
DragonCon's on my list. Right now it's almost entirely expense. That whole owning a 110 year old house that needs 29 new windows and such gets in the way. :( Technically, I should revise the two for Arisia and WorldCon - I've been to both of them. But I want to go again.
