Welcome!
Before you indulge in my reviews, it's probably best that you learn what my style is and how my posts will be set up. Otherwise, you might find yourself confused and lost in my brain.
My Style: I am blunt, so be warned. My opinion is my opinion. You may disagree, but that's why it's called an opinion. Hopefully you just find mine helpful or insightful. I can also be very sarcastic, so please don't get offended.
How the reviews will be organized:
I've given a lot of thought to this and have decided that each review will have more information than you could possibly need, but it'll be broken into sections so you don't have to read everything. There will also be a link to the IMDB site at the end of each review so that you can view the cast list and everything in full.
Anyway...all review pieces will be under a cut except for the following information that will appear right on your flist.
Subject Line: Name of the movie
Body:
Title of Movie
Score: Rated A thru F (A being the best grade, and F being the worst)
Genre: Genre of the Movie
Director: Director of film
Rating: Official Rating of the movie (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17)
Main Actors: Main Actors
Suggested mood/setting to be in: The best mood to be in before watching the movie
Summary: A few sentences to introduce you to the review
Following that information will be two sections. The first will be called "The Facts" which will be a brief, spoiler-free, synopsis of the movie.
The second section will be behind a cut and will be called "Thoughts and Opinions", which will take you to that section. That section will include a breakdown of what I thought about the acting, cinematography, etc. If the movie is a book adaptation, I will not include as many thoughts about the plot. SPOILERS WILL EXIST HERE.
ALSO at the end of the review, under the cut, there is a breif explanation of why I gave the grade I did.
GRADING SCALE:
The explanation to my madness:
A= A must see! A rare gem in the movie world where every aspect of the movie was nearly perfect! Very enjoyable for entertainment purposes too (not just hyped for rewards)!
A-= A very well done movie that should definitely be seen. Most aspects of the movie are executed very well. Very enjoyable for entertainment purposes.
B+=The movie may have had a few shortcomings, but it is still worth watching and has great entertainment value!
B= The movie is average and pleasant enough to watch. The entertainment value is there for sure and can still be enjoyed, although there are some flaws.
B-=The movie has obvious shortcomings and may become tedious to watch. This is the grade that borders on worth seeing and just passing on until it can be rented.
C+= Some aspect of the movie may have been executed decently, but the movie is just not worth the money to go to the theater, but maybe it'd be a cheap rental.
C= At this point, the movie is just disappointing. It's a waste of money and is bordering on a waste of time. There is little to no satisfaction.
D= The movie very disappointing and you should not bother watching it. Too many things are wrong and it's a waste of time to bother with. No satisfaction.
F= Epic failure of a movie. You can't finish it, you can't eat popcorn to it, and you're so disappointed that you're angry.
So...there you are! Enjoy!
Looking for a good movie and just want a suggestion? Or do you just want to see if I like a movie without looking for the review? Regardless, I have compiled the following list of movies that I recommend! All of the movies on this list (sorted by genre, then alphabetically), have received at least a B+ on my grading scale. I have personally seen all these movies and I'm not going on what I heard. If I have already completed the review for the movie, click on the title to go to the full review. If the title is not yet a link then I have yet to finish the review...but I intend on writing one. With that all explained...Check out my recommended movies!
