After doing a buncage investigation in the light of day & sobriety, I'm pretty sure Meat died of GI stasis. She'd not finished her pellets (she picked out all of the Oxbow, but left the Brown's Timothy Tidbits & hay chaff), not eaten much hay or drank much water.
