Admittedly I don't have the greatest attention span of all, but I got bored after about four numbers when I did a sudoku. Arthur likes them, but he's good with numbers and I'm not. I'm not a fan of cryptic crosswords though.
if by numbers you mean maths then no. not good at all. i love physics but beyond o-level physics is almost entirely mathematical equations and unless you know what all the letters mean equations like e=mc2* are just meaningless. sudoku isn't about maths, it's about logic and perfection** and works just as easily with letters or symbols*** tho numbers do make it easier. i once made an a3 size sudoku board and a set of little bricks with pictures of nine of the star trek voyager crew. and another set of l-word characters... i should try them out at a con soon... :)
*e=energy; m=mass; c=the speed of light; 2=squared as in multiplied by itself... and on the face of it is fairly easy to understand. of course applying that to building a nuclear bomb is way, way beyond my understanding and that's one of the easier equations...
Ah, I guess it's the logic thing that throws me - I have my own special brand of logic! Have you ever done those logic puzzles where it's something like "Tim, Tom, Tony and Tallulah are in a sweet shop", they have a paragraph about who bought what, and you have to work out their pocket money and ages from a few facts? Those things drive me mad.
I failed my GCSE Physics mock, so I wasn't allowed to do the proper exam (my school were like that), so I never felt comfortable with it. We did bits of it in GCSE science when I did a combined course at college to get the grade I needed for uni, but it's not something that really stuck with me.
Those boards sound cool though, would go down well at a con I imagine.
Hey... great layout! I liked your red and black one too but this is something special..I like crosswords and I'm awful with numbers...they scare and confuse me...:D
