SUMMARY: It is FREE WAFFLE DAY at Waffala, and as expected, the lunch crowd is huge.
For all his functions that mimicked the human body, Vash didn't have to eat, or at least not nearly as often as a human did. He could go for a long period of time on a small amount of fuel. He didn't know what it was like to be truly hungry, and having not experienced it made him wonder if he'd been built with a function like that in the first place. Other people would have considered it a blessing to be able to go without, but then, other people weren't like Vash.
This was because Vash truly enjoyed food. He tried not to eat excessively, but sometimes he just couldn't help it. It all tasted so good, and though there were few foods that he disliked, he definitely had preferences. He liked breads, and sweet things, and combinations of the two. This made most breakfast foods perfect for his tastes.
So, when he'd heard that each customer at Waffala would be getting a free stack of waffles with their order today, well, of course he'd shown up! He might not have picked the best time, though. The deal had lured many other people to the restaurant, leaving Vash at the back of a decently long line. Oh, but he could be patient, especially if there was food involved. That didn't mean that he was entirely capable of standing still. He started to softly whistle while he waited, hands in his pockets as he looked around the place.
