So Tumblr's days are numbered...

I'm happy to come back to LJ, even if only as a stopgap. I've missed communities and integrated comments. Now if only LJ could do gifsets as well as Tumblr...

Anyway, I hope enough people migrate back to make it worth it. And hello to new friends from Tumblr!

ETA: I am so glad I privatized all my old entries. I was so embarrassing /o\

Hi there! I know it's a pipedream to think that fandom will move back here in a substantial way, but I thought I'd dust off the cobwebs anyway. Good to see some true believers still here!

I never got the hang of Tumblr. It's so overwhelming for me. The fact that it's supposed to be a blog site but you cannot COMMENT on the posts unless you reblog really bothers me. And it's all about gifsets, which are nice, but they only give you one link to "heart" the posts you like and no way to organize them by type or fandom or whatever. Am I becoming a luddite already??

It's good for a lurkery approach to fandom, but that's about it. The interactiveness is almost nonexistent.

I'm not jumping to any conclusions about Tumblr's fate yet, but I'd love it if more people would come back to LJ! I actually do like Tumblr, in its own special way, but only for fandom stuff (I'm mainly a lurker, so it works for me).

Ah Tumblr. I'll always take LJ. I feel like it's an old club that only the people who really love it still visit.

Hi,
I've actually never left lj- I just don't get Tumblr. I'm very glad to see you're still here. There is still quite a lot of fic activity on lj, although most of the Holmes stuff here (as everywhere, I guess) is BBC Sherlock, but we just concluded the ACD Holmesfest with a lot of really high-quality fic if you are still interested.

I've been reading the in the dusty back rooms of cox_and_co and I happened to see that way back in Septemb 2006, you had asked no_need_in to send you the fics of october_9_1890 after she disappeared. Did you ever get them and do you by any chance still have them?

I keep hearing what a talented writer she was so I'm trying to track them down. I'd really appreciate it!

ETA: I've just read your first story about Holmes and Milverton and really liked it. You had a very original take on their first meeting!
