If their wings caught fire, it could have made the job even worse for the ones who remained on the ground. They would end up having to put out the fire still burning AND scrape up the remains of the flying firemen! If I were them, I'd demand double-pay for that...

I love the car-skates, and the fact that women are wearing corsets and bloomers while using them. Wonderfully steampunk!
