Doctor Who - The Sound of Exposition

Well, that was a mess, wasn't it? No, I don't think most people (especially fans) would agree with me. But I'm afraid I found it a cacophonous, mostly pointless, 45 minute series of dull conversations and chases. I must admit, I really enjoyed ( cut for spoilers )

You see-I am getting the measure of RTD when he writes...a bit of running around, lots of banter, a crude attempt at some sort of vague political or sexual issues, some rather inferior soap/drama bits about home/family as he tries to bring the everyday into the plot (if he is trying to ground it and make it more scary that way he fails utterly and should really have taken a leaf out of the Pertwee years which had that nailed). He generally avoids writing anything totally cringe worthy-but has some cringe worthy moments from time to time. He tries to be clever (throw in an over all 'bad wolf' metaplot, an anagram or two and reveal something stunning yet pointless to add to the who universe) and usually fails. In the end at best he tends to be mediocre ( ... )
