I don't think I've posted much about it here, if at all, but I've been totally jazzed about JJ Abrams' upcoming new Star Trek film coming out next month May. Last month we got glimpses of the crew and the new uniforms. But this, this is what many have been waiting for... the first glimpse of the old new Enterprise...

that doesn't look like the original Enterprise. i have no real hopes for this thing, except that it's a flashback sort of story (i think) so memories of the regulars could be like that.

mostly, it seems to fly in the face of everything we've come to know about ST. Kirk and Spock did not know each other, Spock served Pike for several years before Kirk got to be Captain... the Enterprise wasn't built ON Earth...

i dunno. and other actors taking the place of icons? we'll see. it's a nice looking picture, but shouldn't it actually look like the real Enterprise? the useless/needless cg upgrades to the first series made the Enterprise look relatively the same, so why doesn't this?
