I wish that you had a mother who hadn't hurt you and who loved you the way mothers are supposed to. I wish the same for myself. And yes I think that mothers are "supposed" to love us, not hurt us, because the enormous amount of power and control they have over us and the development of our mental/emotional stability or lack of, means that they carry the responsibility to go out of their way to be nurturing, not damaging to us. Unfortunately this is not always the way with moms and I agree that the hype around mother's day (and father's day) can make it feel even harder to deal with the fact that yours has caused you a lot of suffering. Or you call them but it feels like a lie, but at the end of the day it is a natural part of human nature to desire a loving and non=abusive mother. *hugs* (apologies for the non-lucidity of this comment, I'm sick :p)

thank you, your words mean a lot.. heh I made a community to help people but I guess "what goes around comes around." Human nature is an interesting thing isnt it we instinctivly should want to do right and want right done to us, but then why do people become abusive? this is the question that haunts me because I only have one answer for it... I did something wrong.
