Absolutely not. There will be no middle eastern organisms coming back with me whatsoever. Not only is it prohibited, but it's just a bad idea to introduce that crap into the US.

The same goes for all equipment, it must be washed and pass a meticulous inspection before it can be put on the boat home. The only thing we're planning on shipping out of here is oil, not some new plague.

I think your idea of coming back in 15 years and checking it out is a good one. I talked with a guy who visited Vietnam with his son last year, stayed in the Hanoi Hilton (!4 star, nice), rented 3rd world motorbikes for a week on a handshake, stayed with the Hmong, got to know them, buy their handmade vegetable-dyed vests (which was worn to the party where I met him) and had a great time-SAFELY. The time may not be ripe for cultural exchange in Iraq. Read my British motormags, keep your head down, and pray to whatever god you worship that the Iraqis find their way to a place in the future where you and I can rent Gator-sized motorbikes and tour what may turn out to be a beautifulcountry, based on the pictures I've seen and which is probably the most valuable thing you can bring home ( ... )
