This was a letter I was considering sending to an RPI publication, but I think it's been too sanitized and all that was left was a pitch for fresh help.

Do they need any 50 year old software engineers? How about an overqualified A/V guy? Or maybe an unlicensed electrician, plumber, and refridgeration repair technician. Hell, for 6 (tax-free) figures, I'll come over and blow the dust off all the keyboards...

How about a year-round coach for the kids, or any Unix stuff that's not already fried from the dust. No wait, need any Christmas lights put up?? Paul is still doing all that for free, but it would be nice to get paid for SOMETHING! Do I mail the Christmas cookies or will you be home for them?

I'm connecting over a network provided by Tamsco, who's hiring. The Tamsco guys here have it pretty nice, and there's a lot of contractors in the IT and support areas. A army presence like this one needs comm links and other support just like any other company with 150,000 employees spread out over hundreds of locations.
