Where art thou, Spring?

Snow was forecast, again, but we didn't believe it, having seen similar forecasts during the last several weeks, one even for a blizzard. Each time we got a piddling dusting of snow, or rain, but never the predicted snow fall.

This morning, however, I woke to this:

Holy cow! Your winter just won't leave gracefully this year, will it?

No! And we finally were able to clean up all the debris in the yard from the last snow melt, rake the poor old matted brown grass, get rid of the piles of sand from the snow plows. Shees. Ah, well, this will melt and go away. It must. :)

We could use some more moisture in Denver-- send it this way! Today is cool and breezey, sunny and restful. You'll get it soon enough. Cheers!

I thought you had got a ton of snow this winter in CO. Not? Well, by all means, you can have this. Actually, Duluth has not had any big pile of snow this year. Just south of here they've had a pile, and to the west, where the rivers are flooding, but not here. We can use the moisture, to be honest. I just wish it was rain! Whine, whine, whine.

I just told Mariole that, to be be fair, we could use the moisture. But we'd have preferred spring rain to spring snow. :) If you are experiencing a lot of wind, maybe it's the same system that was here yesterday and the day before - rain/snow predicted, which didn't happen, but tremendous winds. We were lucky not to have trees down. Good luck on improved weather!

Well, I guess I can't complain too much about the last 30 days during which, there have only been 3 days of sunshine. It could be worse, it could be snow. :p

That's a depressing entrance into spring. I am sure we've had more sunny days than that, just a lot cooler than yours. :) I'd love to see things begin to green up at last. I want to work in the yard!

ummmmm....sunny and TOO warm in CA. Not a bit of gloom, except for the folks roasting at Coachella (they moved the festival from hellish fall to *moderate* Spring.....Momma Nature is surely up to some tricks, both here and in the Midwest)

Soon cometh True Spring, dear Mechtild, wherein the Winter of your discontent shall be banishéd

I'm looking forward to some real spring, jan-u-wine, you can be sure. Heck, we all thought it had finally arrived. Not. It'll probably be beautiful while I'm away during the beginning of May (going to see my mom again for ten days around Mother's Day, 4/30 - 5/10).

P.S. I don't recognize your icon drawing. Who did it?

perhaps you will return home to beauty, then!

That icon is by Elizabeth Wyeth. I think that we might have discussed her before. This is the only thing of hers that I like (and I"m sorry to say that!)

You're right. Just checked out some of her stuff on Google images. Very Elfin Elves, mostly, not my cup of Tolkien illo. :)

I hope it's nice when I get back, too. Got lots of yard work waiting!
