I used to see a therapist who had a Phd in Psychology and in law. When she was in her forties, she changed professions. She was 65 when I saw her and her husband was a 47 year old lawyer. Stranger things have happened.
Of course, you may actually want to pay of your student loans some day.
Yeah, I'm pretty strongly considering a law school stint after residency if I decide not to do a fellowship. I have a penchant for working to change legislation and policy, and the extra degree would just make it easier. We'll see. I've been very fortunate and haven't actually acquired any student loans thanks to the PSATs (paid for college) and my parents (paying for med school).
