Question for you, Jess: what do you think is the most cliched question you can ask during an interview (when they ask you if you have any questions)?

maybe "where do you see this program going over the next few years?" I was interviewing somewhere and the department head said "everyone asks this question so I'll just answer it now." I personally hadn't thought of it, but everyone else looked upset that they were going to have to come up with a new one.

My standard was "what's a typical day like for the resident on your service?"

That is really weird because I was told routinely that nobody asks that question. I asked it at each interview. Possible that they were lying to me but didn't seem like it.
