Vid: Give It Up (The Hour, Lix/Randall)

Dec 16, 2012 20:45

I watched The Hour in vid mode, so felt the need to respond to the second season with a vid - but being quite aware that I should be actually working on my festivids assignment, its just a quick short one.

Of course I had to focus on the Lix/Randall subplot. Kind of a love story, but more a story of regret, guilt, hope, grief and intimacy.

I'm not familiar with the source, but I enjoyed this very much. I love the mood and the musicality!

Thank you! I was wondering what it would be like for someone who hasn't seen the show - sadly for vidding purposes, the show didn't go down the flashback route and a lot of their story is told rather than show.

Thank you! I was really trying use the physical proximity of those two to convey their emotional connection (which is what the show and actors did as well, which helped me immensely), and I'm really glad it worked.

Re: the show (since you're thinking of watching). IMHO, It's a show made of A grade components but somehow they only come together to create a B grade overall product unfortunately, but it's got an amazing production design, cast and some wonderful characters (Lix and Randall being my personal favourites) and the second season is better than the first, which I believe makes up for it's problems.

Oh my god, this is beautiful. I am head over heels right now for this pairing and this show, and you've absolutely nailed them.

Thank you! That's one of my absolute favourite songs that I've discovered over the past year.

OMG this makes everything that happened a little bit easier to bear *sniff* I love your editing, the way you emphasize them circling each other constantly at first and how you finally bring them together -- really wonderful.

Thank you! The circling then coming together was really what I was going for - great to know it worked.
