[If Chidori had figured out there was a voice-only option, yet, you can bet she'd be using that instead right now; still, the situation being what it is, she's wearing a sharp expression just shy of a glare, pointed straight at the comm. Making a faint 'tch' under her breath, she pulls a leaf out of her hair, before her hands move to smooth down

and just like the last time, back in discedo, his heart leaps up into his throat and he freezes to the spot.

he takes a deep breath, ignoring the knots in his stomach, and quietly, hesitantly, asks:]
... Chidori?

Jun...pei....?
[She turns his name over in her mouth; it's so warm, somehow, not sharp and hot like Medea's. Since when could one word shoot straight through to her heart and leave it feeling so full...? If she didn't know any better, she'd thought her chest would have burst, then, from this messy flood of panic and despair and - what of this emotion? Relief, maybe...?
Love, she remembers, and she swallows, trying to speak steadily, though her voice still shakes.]
But how... why are you here? I'd thought I....

It's ... heh, it's kind of a long story.
["we've been kidnapped by faeries, chidori." it's not that long of a story, is it? well, something else more important needs to come first.]
But - I'm comin' to find you! So don't go anywhere, all right?
[a door closes in the background.]
Are you near a building? Temple-lookin' thing? [he remembers that's where he showed up, and it seems to be where most people turn up when they first arrive.]

[She bites her lip, almost until it bleeds - it's not a usual habit of hers, but Medea's absence is nearly throbbing in her, and she doesn't know how to - what to do. She hadn't ever been so long without her, and so acutely at that. Just having her Evoker taken away was horrible enough, but this...]
Yes. I - I went outside to figure out where I was, but...
[Like that helped.]
Junpei, what is this place...? I can't feel Medea.... why can't I....!
[She trails off dizzily, too disoriented by it all to realize how terribly awkward it is to ask him of all people that. It's because she knows the truth, really, that she's panicking this way; because she does know why Medea is gone (and of all own accord!) but to acknowledge that is to, well...
Acknowledge that Medea is gone for good.]

It's - called Demeleier, and - I swear I'm not - screwing around, but - faeries.

... You must be kidding. Something like that is...
[What? All just fiction? Her entire life would sound like something out of a bad novel to anyone ignorant of Persona and the Dark Hour. Still, this feeling of being toyed with - it's not unfamiliar. It's anything but unfamiliar, and though Chidori doesn't care for questions or morality, it feels close to being an injustice.]
Don't.... [It's supposed to be edgy, almost a threat, that twist in her voice, but it just sounds all the more despaired. Don't what? 'Don't start,' 'don't joke'? She didn't even know how to finish that. What sense did any of this make...?]

['Trust me.' It should come simple enough, and in a way, it does, so much so that it confuses her just how automatically she did trust him, even before he asked her to. Trust had always been... allowing Takaya to lead, she supposed, or Jin and Takaya relying on her analysis skills, but - she knew this was entirely different. And her admittance is soft, quiet, however the coolness of her voice tries to mask it.]
... But I believe you, I guess.
