Taken from the series' point of view, it's rather Orwellian. Taken from a philosophical point of view, I can see truth in it.

At least for me.

Sometimes being focused on the "answer" forces one to see things from only one viewpoint. If you can look at a situation without looking for an answer, you may ( stress may) be able to see it from a viewpoint that is unexpected.
