Super Tuesday!

Feb 05, 2008 22:34

So, I don't usually write political entries, but I am so excited, to see the outcome of Super Tuesday. I am also ecstatic  that soon I will be able to vote for the first time. Oh, and I'm very happy that Obama appears to have a good chance of winning over Hilary (oh, hope hope hope). Though Obama may have less experience than Hilary and even though ( Read more... )

I don't know who I'm going to vote for. But, I guess I still have some time. I don't really feel any of them have actual plans to undo Bush's work or have solutions to some issues I'm worried about. :/

Yeah, I don't know nearly as much about politics as I should, but I agree that someone needs to undo Bush's work. I think he messed things up to such a degree, it will certainly be difficult, though. Also, I'm not sure if doing things like straight away pulling the troops out of Iraq altogether would be more or less helpful for the country. Bush certainly did a poor job managing that war.

The one thing that bothered me about Obama at first was that he seemed to speak in more vague terms. I wasn't sure of what he actually would do. I have more of an idea now, as he has clarified his position on some issues, but I still wish that he (and actually, all the other candidates too) would be more clear about their issues and their plans.

You still have plenty of time, probably.:) What are the issues that you really want to see get fixed/solved?

I won't go too much into the first one, but illegal immigration is hard where I live. The second one is the enviornment. Despite global warming happening or not, I'm not fully behind either decision. I just personally believe that we shouldn't treat Earth like a landfill and not think that it's going to come back and bite us. lol The third is that there has to be something easier for college tuition and education. I can't basically attend any schools because it's so expensive for one year, let alone two or four.

I definitely am with you on the environment. It worries me that in spite of all Al Gore's efforts to make the issue well-known, the government has been dragging their feet in terms of actually committing to doing anything. I mean, sure, they will talk about what a problem it is, but as for actually implementing a plan ( ... )

Hahaha, yes, that's how I feel, too! For awhile, I was worried, but he has been on a winning streak lately. I'm so happy. And every time I hear him speak, it just reassures me that I am making the right choice. He has such integrity...and it's great to see someone with passion for making things better in this world.:)

I sent away for my ballot today..it sucks being out of my home voting state.

Awesome! Now we are-I just heard this term on T.V. the other day and thought it was hilarious-Obamians. I wonder what Clinton fans are then, Clintonians? That makes them sound like aliens.:)

I'll admit I'm not crazy intelligent when it comes to politics, but from the research I've done and what I've seen in the debates, Obama is totally kicking ass. <3 If I could vote, he'd be my number one.

Hah, I certainly don't know a ton about politics, either. I try and follow politics as much as I can, though, and hopefully learn more as I go. However, when it comes all th little things that make up politics- policies, bills, economics, laws, and such, I know I have so, so much to learn. I have so much respect for anyone studying economics or politics at school. They are so overwhelming and complicated, there are all those little details to remember.

That said, I am quite pleased with how Obama is doing. Last night, he won even more states, which means more delegates. Hurrah! I hope he does alright in Texas (my home state)..I wouldn't think Texas would go for Hillary over Obama, but she does seem to have more of a base with the older Latino voters. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.:)

Obama is the first political candidate I've ever really been excited about (well, okay, so I liked Al Gore-but NOT until after he had already lost, haha).
