Someone please explain to me why if my orthopedist can't follow directions from Aetna I'm the one that suffers? I'm currently out more than two weeks pay because of it and now Aetna says I have to follow an appeals process instead of just getting the right info faxed to them. I'm starting to feel the urge to lawyer up just so they can share my pain

I'm thinking we should institute a death penalty for screwing up doing your job.
Yea eventually I'd get hit by it too, but honestly, based on how often I suffered because someone else screws up, I'm pretty sure by the time the law applies to me, there will be no one else around to enforce it.
The problem is companies like Aetna can afford more lawyers than most anyone else, and I've seen little to convince me the results of 'civil law' is anything more than who spends the most on lawyers.
Anyway, glad to hear you're back to work, even if for short days.
* "our earliest appointment is tomorrow" would have made much more sense than "Friday" if it had really been Thursday. The person booking the appointment screwed up. I have my notes from the phone call.
