Happy New Year

I wish everyone a happy new year. I am happy to be past the winter solstice. I have been disoriented with what time of day it is. I woke up at 5 AM this morning. There are more hours of darkness in the day than I need right now. I welcome more daylight hours. The weather has been mild for the end of the year. Happy New Year, Ava! I think the NWS says Jan/Feb should be milder-than-average temps for us, El Niño finally kicking in. Yesterday was our first day back open and it was great, more than double what I'd hope for in January. :)

I am glad to have Emerald City Gardens within driving distance. May you start a healthy spring fever than catches on throughout the city. I can't shop today but hopefully sometime this week. It's great to have a small locally run store with plants that grow in the northwest. It would seem reasonable that garden centers would sell plants that grow in the northwest. However, Home Depot (whose headquarters are based in Atlanta) often sells plants in Seattle that only grow in places like Georgia, Florida, or California.
