Living away from home for the first time was proving more difficult than Peter thought it would be. He had big dreams of freedom and being an adult, but when it came down to it he missed his bed, he missed home cooking, and he missed getting to see everyone for dinner. Including Nathan.
Fortunately, because he came from money he was able to get an

He was content to look at the caller ID and toss it away, assuming it'd be one of the many girls who had approached him the entire week, but of course it was the most important person in his life.
Peter smiled and flipped the phone open, his heart thumping wildly when he spoke and waited for Nathan's voice.
"Thought you'd never call to check up on me."

He looked around. At least the neighborhood wasn't awful. The people were too artsy for his tastes, but Peter always liked that ridiculous sort of thing.

Honestly he hadn't expected Nathan to make an effort to see him. In Peter's mind he would've needed to pay for a cab to his brother's place for that to happen. "Apartment 26A," he added. "Write it down, old man." He'd only told Nathan his address about fifteen times before leaving for school.

"I had a dream the other night that you and I were flying around, over the city. It was cool."
He hailed them a cab like a pro and got in first, sliding all the way over. "We were doing loops and flying through clouds and stuff." Peter must have fallen asleep reading a Superman comic that night. He couldn't remember.

Sliding into the cab, he gave the cabbie the address of the store, closing the door, "You read too many comics. That's why you want to save the world." But it was more than that and Nathan knew it. He just didn't want to instigate it, because Peter would only get hurt and taken advantage of, by trying to help everyone.
"Pete, listen to me. I get that you want to help people, but there are plenty of ways to do that on the side. Why are you so stuck on this? Explain it to me, so I can understand."

Peter tucked his hair back and looked out the window, then drummed his fingers on the door. "Nate, I've tried to explain it. You won't understand no matter how many times I tell you." But okay. He'd say it again, like a broken record. "I just have a soft spot for people who are sick and going through awful things. They shouldn't be alone...they should have the best of care. They should have someone with them to keep them company through the pain, and I want to be that person."
Plus there was that entire summer in high school he spent investigating hospice nurses, and finding out there were a lot of crooked people out there. Nurses who would steal medication from their patients and let them die painfully. Nurses who didn't care. He could do a lot better, and actually make a difference.
"Plus I wanna be a medic some day. Work my way up and help in all kinds of situations. I think it'd be cool to ride in the back of an ambulance and give someone CPR."

"You have a soft spot for everyone," Nathan sighed, looking at his little brother. When he spoke about this, he had this look in his eyes. Admittedly, he loved that look. He would never do what the rest of their family did. But that was okay. He never did when he was younger, either. Peter had no idea how many times Nathan defended him against their father, glad that he wouldn't grow up like him. So what was he doing? Why was he acting like he'd be so disappointed?
He'd even ignore how silly the fact that Peter wanted to ride around in the back of ambulances sounded.
"You know what?" He said thoughtfully, "That's fine. You want to help people? You should." Maybe the nurse thing was a phase. Maybe he'd end up being a doctor, "If you want me to tell dad you're taking pre-law classes next semester, I'll do that."

He pursed his lips, looking over at Peter, "That shirt happened to look nice on you. Next Christmas I'll get you a bib."

"Can we go now? I'm hungry." Talking about ketchup made him think about burgers which made his stomach growl loudly.

Nathan pushed the cart toward the front of the store, "Yeah, we'll go back to your place to drop this stuff off and then we can grab a bite to eat, alright?"
Reply
"Can we get burgers and fries?" Peter silently prayed that Nathan wouldn't make him eat at a fancy place where he couldn't even read everything on the menu. He put a hand on the side of the cart and walked towards the checkout lanes with Nathan.

Nathan rolled his eyes when Peter flirted with the waitress. As if that would ever happen when he was sitting right there. "Thank you," he turned on his best smile and sure enough, her eyes remained on him, not the scrawny eighteen year old brother of his.
"You want me to leave so you can go fuck her?" He said anyway, once she walked off.
Reply
At least that's how he saw himself after losing that battle with the waitress. "No," he said sullenly.

"Besides, in a little while you'll end up with the person you really want to be with anyway, so don't look so put out," he said casually, taking a sip of his Coke.

Peter wasn't good at many things, but blowjobs? Well, his lips made him a natural, and his eagerness was the icing on that cake.

Undoing his cuffs, he pulled his shirt off all the way, tossing it over his jacket on the chair. He let out a soft hum at the feel of Peter's breath against his groin.
"I thought about it here and there, yeah," he said casually, pushing his pants down the rest of the way, then crawling over Peter, pressing him down against his mattress. He reached up, thumbing Peter's lip from his teeth, then leaned in and kissed him.

He lifted his hips up more, clear off the bed, bumping himself into Nathan and letting out a long, needy groan. "C'mon haven't you teased me enough today? Fuck me. Pleeeeease?"
Peter let out a shuddering, hot breath of air and blinked at his ceiling. Stupid, bland ceiling that he stared at every morning when he missed Nathan to death. Now, when he saw it, maybe he'd think of this and everything would be okay.
