Tara is actually in the books she just has a much smaller roll in them. Her roll in the show gets really big later on especially in season 2.

Personally I don't care for Bill. I'm cheering for somebody else but I don't know how far you are in the books and I can't remember when he becomes a major player for Sookie's affections so I won't say who.

Tara must be somewhere after book 2, because I'm almost finished with it and I don't remember ever hearing about her ever.

And thanks for not spoiling me. These are fun car-ride books, so I'm reading at audiobook speed instead of paperback speed! :)

Oh! OH! Wait! Spoil me on the TV show. Do they have Bubba? Please tell me that Bubba the vampire makes an appearance. I laughed so hard when he showed up in the books.

I totally picked up this series two days before reading about it here. I have no previous knowledge of the books. Honestly I just hope it doesn't suck out loud.
