this is a new poem i just wrote in the villanelle style of writing... big ups anarkian for the challenge... and big ups to my homegirl wordmistress for the behind-the-scenes inspiration...


i wanna thank you for bringing me back home
i never thought i would end up here
i just needed to make that known

i filter expressions through the black dome
rage and artistry, love and enough fear
i wanna thank you for bringing me back home

it all manifested in my last poem
all in all, i know it's been a tough year
i just needed to make that known

but it's been beautiful though hard like a glass stone
and it's so hard to see what's clear
i wanna thank you for bringing me back home

so i let my words continue to crash slow
the very fabric of my soul i clutch near
i just needed to make that known

now the energy i have is just a tad blown
but i refuse to be rushed here
i wanna thank you for bringing me back home
