Driving

My parents have been on at me to learn to drive ever since I became legally eligible to do so three years ago.  I have stoically resisted their entreaties, as I have no desire whatsoever to drive.  It doesn't frighten me, I acknowledge that it is a useful skill-I simply don't want to do it.  I took lessons because my Aunt gave me some as an 18th ( Read more... )

Don't do it unless you genuinely want to. Otherwise you will fail.

That said, you might suddenly find a great passion for it once you get into it, like a summer project of sorts. It is much harder than it looks, and you might enjoy the challenge. Doing your theory first might help you find out whether you want to do it.

I would reccomend you did your theory anyway before embarking on any kind of money guzzling course. But theory cd-roms things are actually really good, and I have every confidence you'd pass your theory no problem. :D

i'm completely with you. public transport gets me to uni and my two jobs. and even if i get onto the mentoring scheme i've applied for, i get my travel reimbursed. that, and i like to walk.

and when i'm a teacher, i'll just have to be one of those teachers who takes the bus with the kids...

public transport is great, don't get me wrong, but even the buses have drivers....
