[For the first few moments, Alois is just going to stare at the device in his hand. He certainly couldn't understand anything Asagi was saying. or trying to say. The question being .. why was he speaking in that language when he'd always used English (to his knowledge) before?]

You realize you posted this publicly, right?

[Assuming that this was some method of being covert gone wrong. Who was Asagi trying to have a private conversation with anyway..]

[Asagi raises his hand to his head in frustration. This was probably going to devolve into picture drawing if it kept up. He wishe he had stolen a chalk board and some chalk from the local school- it's too late now that all that's left are a bunch of ruins on a grassy field.]

Yes, I do, [He nodded, wondering if he could pantomime the story of the Tower of Babel to get across to the boy what was going on, to an extent at least.]

Any other language, [He motioned from his mouth towards the camera as he spoke,] I cannot speak, [he laid his hands flat in the air and swished one over the other in the gesture for 'none' or an inability to preform an action.]

[Asagi's words still didn't make any sense but his actions gave some clarification. Leastwise the nodding did. The rest of it was quite comical]

[Deciding to be facetious...] You don't have to worry about that. You're the last person in Avon that I'd want to kiss. [.. knowing full well that this couldn't be what Asagi was trying to say]

[A monkey could understand the look Asagi was giving Alois. He was totally un-impressed and un-amused. He took out a cigarette and lit it, shaking his head a bit at Alois.]

Well. I haven't spoken to you in a while.

[He's speaking in English; he understands what Asagi is saying, but finds that he cannot, for whatever reason, reply in the same language.]

This is... pretty fucking screwy.

I just wrote some of this in Japanese... Whoops? stand_divided May 3 2011, 08:56:52 UTC
That's one way to put this. I am glad that there is at least one native English speaker that understands Japanese here.

Both fires came from the forest, and this second one has not only left us not understanding each other, but it has caused the city to disappear, as well as that odd message. I think we should get who we can together and figure out who can understand what language, so we can keep everyone informed on what is happening.

If they want to cut off our communication, they will need to try a bit harder.

[He's got something of an alliance with Asagi already, and had been planning on talking to him soon anyway...]

I'll be in the common room of the tenant house. Come meet me there.

[Why bother with another video when he could just show up in the common room?]

What do you suspect the most common native languages of the people here to be?

[Marisa wastes no time in replying. Her speech seems to be slightly archaic.]

Honestly? I couldn't tell the difference.

[Asagi's own Japanese is somewhat archaic as well. He doesn't seem to notice that it might be an odd difference.]

It's because we have so far been able to understand everyone whatever language they spoke, even if we could hear that the English speakers have an English accent and the like. I realized something was off when I tried to re-read an article from the last newspaper this morning.

It's definitely something to do with that message we got on our shiki-er, PDA, right? I guess it was being ironic!

Maybe it was telling us to speak while we could still speak to everyone.

Though "Speak" was mentioned again in this second message. I am going to try to get a meeting together to discuss this.
