So far really enjoying FNL, haven't fallen in love with it, but I like it lots

This is superior tv folks, so well written and acted. I am only on Episode 10 but even though I know nothing about American Football, it has really grabbed me. Not sure why I haven't fallen in love it, will it grow on me even more through the coming seasons to you think?

YES.

Season 1 of FNL just keeps getting better and better and better. Season 2 has some issues in the first half that feel like network meddling, but about halfway through it finds its footing again. Season 3 has to do some quick wrapping-up of storylines in the first couple of episodes (s2 was cut short because of the writers' strike), but it's done pretty well, and the season again gets better and better as it goes.

Have just watched Ep 1 of S2 I remember you saying about FNL that there a really poor story line, I am going to take a guess and say is the Tyra and Landry murder story. If so I agree, it just doesn't fit in with the show at all. This show excells at realistic events and the nitty gritty, little details of every day life, not hiding bodies sort of stuff. Please tell me that not too much is made of this.

You explained *exactly* why I didn't like that storyline. Too soapy, not right for FNL at all. Plus, I thought the cover-up was completely out of character for Landry, who never even skipped a class except the one time to check on Tyra.

But it is resolved by about halfway through the season, and there is some good to come out of it since we learn more about Landry and his dad. Their scenes together are terrific.

You're right it is a soap opera type story line, glad to know that it gets resolved fairly quickly and that some good comes of it.

I agree with Celtic - it's totally worth hanging on to watch. Though, I really liked it from the off, so it was all good for me! I do find that I can't watch many episodes in a row as the camera work makes me feel a bit motionsick, but that eases up in s2 and s3.

Thanks for that, I am going to keep going because I am really enjoying it, I do feel at episode 12 now that it is really picking up momentum. I know what you mean about the camara work it is pretty close up a lot of the time. I read that most of it is done in a first take, and the actors are not blocked but just left to do their thing and the camara follows them.
