Free Books (if you're in Vancouver)

Apr 30, 2008 15:46

I'm clearing out the less-meaningful books on my shelves (since I anticipate working in environments where I can find most of them again if I want to).

If you're in Vancouver, or will be visiting sometime soon, take a glance at my bookcrossing shelf and let me know if you'd like any set aside for you

Just at a glance, Cricket in Times Square and the Milne would be much loved at my house.

Great. The Winnie-The-Pooh is in pretty shabby shape, but they're all set aside for you.

Wow, there's a lot of good books here. but to be reasonable i'll call just these ones: Of Love And Other Demons, Self, the Al Purdy collection, and the Feynman book.

Excellent. I'm so glad you want the Purdy. It's a huge tome, and I'm not doing it justice at the moment.

Also, be as unreasonable as you like. Alternatively, you can just skim the bookcase when you're here next. I have 4 shelves set aside at the moment, and it's nice to send them to appreciative new homes.

They're all yours except for Brave New World. The copy that appears to be available is probably somewhere in Australia now. Also, as an FYI, the Brain and Compassionate Buddha books are fairly old (1982 and 1955), so the information/analysis may not be particularly reliable.

Right now I'm relatively free (as I wait to hear back after job interviews). If you're around tomorrow evening, I'm having a few people drop by from 6-8pm for social time. You're welcome to join us then (or to stay for a movie at 8pm) if you'd like. Otherwise, just let me know when you're available in the next week or two and I'm sure we can work something out. Do you have my email?
