That second link you pointed out really has been getting my goat, as well. It makes me angry to no end that gay women are portrayed as 'hawt lezbean sex0rz' for the guys to pant after and really that seems to be the way they have to sell them for gay women to be accepted in the media

These are all subtle ways of dehumanizing minorities. It's not just gays who are subject to it, sadly. It sucks and is why little things like language and literature aren't little things at all. Till we're commonly presented just as people instead of caricatures, we have work to do.

Haven't seen any Torchwood yet, keep meaning to though. Eventually on Netflix, I've heard nothing but good things!

Torchwood takes a little patience to get into at first. It's slow for a few episodes and once it takes off, oh man, it's a wonderful show! :D
