My daughter called me this morning. She is a potential bone marrow donor for someone who will die without a transplant. She doesn't know him, but she is willing and happy to do it. I couldn't be prouder of her.

My husband and I have been on the registry for years but never have had the call.

Good to know they don't have to take it from the hip!

I believe that would lead to more potential donors although it is kind of sad to have to pay somebody for their marrow.

You've raised some awesome kids, Shirley. I remember when she broke her foot and had to hike out of the rainforest (may have details wrong, but still!).

They have another procedure they can use which is somewhat easier.
