Yesterday my daughter was notified by the bone marrow registry that she is a very close match to the guy who needs a transplant. They wanted to make sure she is available in May. They plan on doing a peripheral stem cell transplant. Wow, what an amazing and selfless thing for your daughter to do!

Sometimes it's good to take breaks from writing. I tell myself that a lot, too. :)

Sounds like a pretty safe procedure for her -- except, do they have to go into her bone? (I'm woefully ignorant about it all.)

I write in spurts which are often weeks (or months) apart...

What a wonderful thing to do! A friend of mine was a bone marrow donor, and I remember him saying he was tired afterward, but he recovered very quickly, and it gave him enormous satisfaction to know he'd helped save a life.

As for writing, sometimes a break is exactly what we need.
