I see your dilemma. That was part of my concern with the move to Cali that didn't end up happening. Anyway, what graduate program are you doing that only lasts for one year? And how much can the tuition difference be if we're only talking tuition for two semesters? I guess you'll have to decide that one yourself, but I think you already know the answer :) Remember, you said "I hope Michigan rejects me" not "I hope schools in Chicago reject me"

I agree with her. I think you've already made your decision based on that comment. Every post over the past four years it seems has something great about staying in the city. Who knows, maybe you'll end up staying there after your done with grad school?

Every time life presents you with a challenge, it doesn't mean you have to take it. You could say, "No thanks. I'm declining the offer." We are both such over achievers, it's hard to do. But pretty soon, we're going to be in the real world where it's not always necessary to do something to impress yourself or others.

I hope that helps, but I have a feeling you're going to do wonderfully well wherever you go.
