blue sky

Being in my futon at night is like being boiled and stirred in a pot filled with sweet wishes and disturbing memories. I try to block my unwanted brain activity by breathing, but usually to no avail. Well, there is a thought that keeps popping up in my mind at night. And it makes my heart beat faster when it comes ( Read more... )

that sounds like a really stupid way to instruct someone to get a job.
instead of helping her constructively modify her answer, the teacher wasted time pointing out faults. this is the mark of a bad teacher (if nothing else than in this specific instance). the marks of a great teacher is one who makes you feel good, teaches well, and makes you happy to come to class to learn, not fearful. i have had both. more good teachers than bad, i'm glad to say. but sadly, more than one bad teacher in my time.

take care,
T.

How does the saying go, "the stake that sticks up too high will be driven down?"

There was nothing dumb about that answer, nothing at all. There are times that I'm amazed that manga artists can be as creative as they are. What is their secret? I hope your friend keeps her opinions and doesn't listen to what those people said; creativity should be encouraged, not stifled.

That incident would have bothered my sleep too. *hugs*

When places as for my personal hobbies I tell them the absolute truth. So if my hobby was to stare at the sky, I would tell them that, then I would tell them why. Hobbies aren't meant to be complicated, they're what we enjoy doing.

Philosophy has no place in a job interview. They want the facts as they are.

I think I will say that at my next job interview to honor your classmate, and out of spite for that teacher.

Ah, the rising tides of conformity...It's self-righteous, narrow-minded people like those instructors that turn creative, spiritual souls into lost, disillusioned misers and robs them of their self-esteem and identity.

It's obvious the instructors know **** about philosophical thinking because if they had half a brain they could see that what she said is philosophical and profound.

^^ you're right, they'd be the last ones to be philosophical!
I wish she retorted by saying that :(
Glad to see you again >

Can't remember where/when it was... elf242 March 7 2006, 01:21:17 UTC
but recently I went out at night to do something.
I looked up at the sky and stars, and looked,
and looked,
and looked some more....
and said to my self: "Self?! you need to do more stargazing!"
just spread out a blanket and pillow on the grass (and maybe a blanket as well. it is after all, march and still chilly, even though I do live in the South and not Missouri anymore. That would REALLY be cold stargazing! Coat weather...) and just stare and THINK aobut the stars and anything else I wanted. No radio, no stupid tv, or other Sh*t to distract. That would be good...

George Carlin once said: "children should spend more time daydreaming, rather than filling their time with endless activities such as soccer practice, d*ldo practice, scouts, wicca, etc. Just hours spending time looking at clouds..."

He said it much better than I, but the point is made, even if the exact flavor of the statement is lost by my imperfect memory.

Later,

T.

You stargaze? That's beautiful *'.'* I wish I could spread out a blanket and stargaze on my pillow in somewhere quiet and beautiful here. (Tokyo...is not a place to do that, sadly ;_;) I want to stargaze in futon outside in a chilly night!

I used to (well I still do) stare at the wall daydreaming in class when I was little. People always scolded me for doing that.
