During the rush hour this morning

I realized for the hundredth time the station staff don't see us passengers as living beings. We are sardines in a can. Haha... At least no one had a heart attack this time ( Read more... )

i think we started to avert our gazes long before we even formed languages. think about it. look at a primate too long and it'll get agitated. that or throw poo at you. the same is true with dogs, isn't it? stare at a dog too long and they'll turn their heads away (at least my dog neysa will). do that to a stray on the street and you might get attacked, sometimes by a human.

It the same thing on the morning rush hour in London. I think of the great morning I had with my evil muse and think 'I wonder if anyone else had a good morning? What if they had a really stressful morning? What if they're bored with their jobs, the early morning squash on the underground and want to just pack it all in to become a lion tamer or something?'
It's the crammed space, it does odd things to your mind.

Yeah, the crammed space hypnotises us into thinking we are mere sardines o_O;

My dream part-time job is to be one of those guys who has to shove people into trains in Tokyo :D

I mean, I already like pushing around my friends, I think I would like to get paid to do something like that. It looks cruel and fun XD

I said "nice weather today, isnt it" once to an older lady i sat down next to on the tram, and that simple sentence resulted in a rather interesting conversation that lasted all the way to my stop. I really enjoyed that conversation, and she did too. And some people on a train once were talking about football (Aussie Rules) and suddenly one of the women turned to me (who at the time was in that kindof long distance travel trance you get sometimes) and said: "What about you, chicky babe? which footy team do ya support?" which startled me right out of my reverie and into a full blown friendly arguement about why Carlton is a much better team to support than Essendon.

I heard Australians are much, much, much friendlier XO
I would like to try commuting there and befriendling strangers.
